obsession {almay smart shade}

For the past six months I have been using MAC Studio Moisture tint as my primary foundation. A couple of weeks ago it was finally on it's last drop so I had to go out and find a replacement which is never an easy thing for me. I have very fair skin so I usually stray away from heavy foundations since they tend to make me look more orange and I can never seem to diminish that darn makeup line on my jaw; I usually stick with tinted primers and top it with loose powder put on by a large brush. So I'm standing in a drugstore for quite some time trying to figure out what the hell I'm going to buy and I scope the Almay Smart Shade and pray that it turns out okay.

This product is amazing, I am so excited I found it and couldn't beat the $13 price tag. When you first get it out of the bottle it looks like a white face moisturizer with little tiny specks in it. The moment it hits your skin it turns into a gorgeous foundation that does some serious blending. My nose and cheek bones are sprinkled with freckles and I have grown to love them so hence why I have problems trying to find something that is for fair skin and won't cover my freckles. This Almay light shade worked perfectly with my face, I put it on after my moisturizer and it feels really light and makes my skin baby soft. It doesn't feel greasy and definitely doesn't shine. I would totally recommend this to someone who likes to wear minimal face makeup but wants to have an even skin tone.

Have you used this product before?

welcome to 2010.

I took a few pictures of myself before dinner last night. I just realized it looks like I have a severe hair cut going on, it's just all on one side ☺

What did you do to celebrate New Year's Eve?!?!

help! {dry shampoo}

I have been looking into buying some dry shampoo but I have no idea which brand to buy! I will be driving across the country for a few days and I really hate washing and drying my hair in hotels since you never really have good water pressure. I always feel like the shampoo or conditioner never ends up washing out of my hair when I stay at a hotel. Plus I have heard fabulous things about the benefits of dry shampoo which led me to research some brands that are out right now. All the reviews and prices I find are so mixed that I am having trouble deciding which product to invest in.

Do you use Dry Shampoo? What do you recommend?

spend or save.

I have only recently started getting into makeup within these past 6 months. I use to wear very minimal makeup and would have a horrible time at attempting to put it on when I tried. So over the past year I started watching youtube.com videos of girls showing how to do makeup, I seriously recommend doing that because I honestly learned some pretty cool tricks. I still don't wear a lot but I have totally been venturing out and investing more on quality products since they have proved to be successful with me. The only problem I have experienced is that I'm too scared to drop money on stuff I'm not sure I will like or use. So as usual I went on ebay.com to find a better deal on some new products I wanted to try. Last week I purchased two Benefit Cosmetics items (I have never used this brand before) I bought the Erase Paste and the Thrrrob Blush. Not only did I get a great deal on these items but I also searched reviews and found they are awesome at what they do.

Have you used any of these products or bought make up from Benefit?

{thrrrob blush - $28 & I paid $5}
{erase paste - $26 & I paid $10}

birthday presents to me.

My 24th birthday is Wednesday; this year I decided that I was going to treat myself to some really nice presents. I have been saving a lot of money this past year and have come to realize once in a while you need to splurge on yourself, especially if it's your birthday! I don't usually post too much on Twitter but I do follow a lot of online stores that I like because you are always the first to know about their sales and limited items. That was the case for my first present to myself.......the Jeffery Campbell Unicorn heels in black!! I rarely spend a lot on shoes since I usually snag them at great deals, but these Unicorn heels have been the talk on a lot of fashion blogs these past few months. I always hear that they are either pre-order only or very limited in quantities on certain sites that do carry them. That's where Twitter comes back into the story; lulus.com announced earlier this week that they were going to be receiving them in a few days. The moment they hit their site I snagged my self a pair and can't stop thinking about them!!!! They are supposed to be here the day before my birthday so they will be the perfect addition to my outfit when Nick takes me to dinner. The second present I bought myself was some makeup which I don't really wear too much of. I am not the best at applying makeup and tend to go really basic with it when I do wear it. I was in Macy's today looking to replace my broken sunglasses when I saw the MAC counter and thought man I really should figure out how to apply makeup and invest in some nice stuff. I went over to just browse around when one of the sales girls asked if she could help me, maybe I looked a little confused and overwhelmed by the options and colors. She helped me with tips of applying eye shadow (I am horrible at putting on) but in the end I got a good start to a great collection of makeup products.
